We have a double bed that was delivered flat-packed with slats for each half of the bed. My son has a single bed with slats. So far, so typical of many bed owners. The double bed was strengthened with two metal Xs and had 4 storage drawers and side shelving. I liked the design and would still be a very happy bunny if it wasn’t for the slats.

Slats should be secured to ensure a restful night’s sleep. However, if you have wooden slats and a metal frame, that might not be the case We have a wooden frame with barely enough edging to support the slats. Needless to say, the slats have been collapsing without very much movement of the bed’s occupants.
Our son’s bed pulled apart without much effort and then the slats did their collapsing trick.
Velcro was used to secure the slats on our bed, and sticky tape wrapped everywhere on our son’s bed. These were not cheap beds and our nocturnal activities are gentle.
We have ordered a new bed for our son. It looks like you can screw the slats in…I live in hope.
