Yesterday was the first of my 10 evening classes in Creative Writing. The difference between listing facts and painting a scene with words was the focus of the class. We are a small group of mostly women who engaged with the tasks in pairs and discovered a little bit about each other’s literary tastes.
I volunteered to submit a piece of writing for the next class to discuss. 300 to 500 words that describes a scene that is set out in 3 lines of factual detail. We will all carry out the same task, but for me the novelty will be getting feedback on my writing.
