My mood is elated by a moderate consumption of alcoholic beverages and an advantageous rugby result for my team, Ulster. We are through to the semi-finals of the European Challenge Cup and will play Exeter at home. Home field advantage can lift the Ulstermen and the crowd’s loud support can rattle some visiting teams.
It was a close match between Benetton and Exeter decided by a final penalty awarded to the visitors. I watched the second half of the game at my usual hang out in Belfast. The Sardinian beer and Italian wine were diluted by accompanying glasses of water as I avoided cycling in the rain. 41 – 44
