My desk is long due a clean. It is the place where I graze and quaff, so among the usual desk clutter there is a picnic for mice.
Rather than disturb the breadcrumbs and ruin the fun for miniature creatures, I am content to play my part in ecological diversity. There is rumour of a clean sweep of desks in my neighbourhood and I may have to steel myself for the day when a new aroma occupies my desk space – cleanliness in antiseptic spray form.
Dettox is a handy thing for the obsessively tidy person who likes to add a sheen of killer to their surfaces, but what of the spiders and those other good guys who help to keep down the flys and midges?
I prefer the organic route to cleanliness – hose down all surfaces with water collected in a barrel and then fumigate the room with a portable barbecue.
