I find it impossible to study at home. There are too many distractions: laundry, dishes, cooking etc. I find it better to sit in a bar and mentally shut out the noise as I read my course material.

Today I started at around midday in La Bottega with my notepad and my OU website. By about 1:30 I was making conversation with other customers at the bar. Not much studying was done for the rest of the afternoon.

I still think that La Bottega is the best place for me to do my reading even if I get distracted. It’s just that there are too many interesting people that come into the restaurant.

My timetable for the last few weeks of the course has yet to be written. Realistically three to four hours a day should be ok. That would be a total of 176 hours, which is plenty of time to do the reading and draft a 3000 essay.
