The king’s office in Suadi Arabia has referred Raif Badawi’s case to the Supreme Court for review.
There is some hope that the Supreme Court will recommend an appeal against the verdict for Raif Badawi, but international pressure by Western governments and Amnesty International may not guarantee a reprieve.
Raif was charged with “going beyond the realm of obedience” which sounds like something from a Kafka novel. Thank God he was cleared of apostacy.
Not yet recovered from his last flogging, his next flogging has been postponed.
His family have fled to Canada. Let’s hope he will be reunited with them soon.
