I recently looked at the competition’s broadband, tv and phone bundled prices. It confirmed that we were being overcharged by our supplier.
The phone call to say we were dropping their service got the predictable response. “You are overdue an upgrade”. That meant that our monthly outlay was halved and we got a Tivo box so we could record even more stuff we don’t get around to watching, ever.
Although I am annoyed at myself for not making the call sooner, I am more pissed off at a market that only responds to customer loyalty when you threaten to walk away.
Supermarkets monitor each other’s prices and adjust accordingly, but broadband suppliers make the customer do all the running. Surely someone could take the lead by reducing prices before the customer notices that they are paying too much.
On the plus side, we signed up for a 4 user Netflix account and we are in the honeymoon period of exploration and fulfilment. I am catching up with Better Call Saul, Orange is the New Black, The Good Wife and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Television just got interesting.
We grabbed some good deals for our summer hols with cheap flights and an apartment in Santander. Another reunion with my brother and family in the Dordogne, before we head for Spain, means quality grub and cheap booze (to go with all that sunshine and scenery). Perfection!
