So much for optimism…already posted on the White House website “President Trump is committed to eliminating harmful and unnecessary policies such as the Climate Action Plan and the Waters of the U.S. rule”…gosh yes, who needs to do anything about climate change or water pollution if you can save a few billion dollars?

Defence spending will increase, although what that means in practice is a reliance on weaponry rather than diplomacy. There is a new policy statement on offensive and defensive cyber capabilities – does that include the sort of hacking that could influence the outcome of foreign elections?

Social services are not for everyone, but obviously the new administration will “ensure that we have the best medical care, education and support for our military service members and their families – both when they serve, and when they return to civilian life.”

Those who serve their country by working their socks off in low paid jobs and get laid off in a globalized economy where employers can switch production  to anywhere in the world to make more profits…obviously they don’t deserve the same consideration.

The same tired Reaganomic theory that didn’t work in the 1980s…less corporation tax, less federal regulation and the economy will grow….it didn’t then. The rich got richer and the poor got poorer. Banking regulations were relaxed and what happened around the world? We are still paying the price for that idiocy.
