As a part-time supporter of Chelsea, my admiration for Jose Mourinho is tempered by the fact that he made a right hash of the Manu Manager’s job.

OK, maybe he had one hand tied behind his back in the battle to restore the fortunes of one of the greatest English football clubs of all time. But he did himself no favours by slagging off his players.
A year away from the press spotlight and club management has mellowed him. Let’s hope he can restore Tottenham’s fortunes. Who can forget Alan Gilzean, Martin Chivers, Glenn Hoddle and of course Jimmy Greaves?
