Lockdown sport has been played behind closed doors with recorded crowd noise. This might make playing more comfortable, but it makes for a very strange viewing experience.
I am now an avid Blues supporter. That’s the team that plays rugby union in the southern hemisphere’s Super Rugby competition. My weekend viewing saw the Blues narrowly defeated by the Hurricanes on Saturday, and the Highlanders snatch a late victory from the Chiefs.
The excitement from the commentators and the fans at the ground was palpable.
Chelsea, my other Blues team, are through to the FA cup final. I hope there will be some genuine excitement on the day and the best team wins – as long as it’s Chels…Come on you Blues.
