I have joined the ranks of kindlers. At £20 off list price, how could I not? Finding free books to kindle has eluded me, so I picked a book by the creator of Mad Men, Matthew Weiner and an Elmore Leonard I don’t think I’ve read.
It’s early days, but I’m warming to the experience, particularly with my diminishing eyesight. The real test will come when I am on some foreign shore and have days of reading to entertain me. That won’t be for a while yet, so bedtime reading is my only yardstick. So far, so good.
Kindling is also on my mind for a different reason. We have invested in a 3 bar outdoor heater. The warmth may not be sufficient for mid winter get togethers, although as I pen this dross I am bathed in its full effect and it seems pretty hot.
A fire pit might be better, I will have to investigate.
