Neuropsychoanalysis

My current MOOC has a Youtube discussion on the divisions between psychoanalysts and neuroscientists. The possibility of building bridges between those different methodologies appears to be remote.

The debate took place ten years ago. I wonder if neuroscience or psychoanalysis has moved any closer towards a rapprochement. It seems logical to me that branches of knowledge can intersect and cross-fertilise. Philosophy started out as an all embracing quest for truth and knowledge. Why should we limit the spheres of our knowledge about the mind?

Food for thought?
