My journeys on the ebike are getting longer. There is a degree of chafing on the return leg (hoho) that is becoming irksome. Having discussed the wearing of Western clothing to protect the inner thighs with the ever sociable Austin, who runs a bike shop in Belfast, the phrase ‘chaps on bikes’ seemed hilarious to us at the time.

Needless to say, I will not be sporting leather chaps on my bike. Getting cycle shorts or tights in my expanded waist size is problematic. A supplier may think that a 40″ XXXL is massive, but I beg to differ. Start at 42″ then you have my interest, why not include XXXXL? There was a fat bloke cycling attire website looking for over £100 for an item of clothing that would cost about £50 if you lost a few pounds and/or inches.
Is that extortion? Or can retailers really justify charging double for clothes that require a bit more material? Women have been faced with that kind of nonsense for years. Shops that embarrass their potential customers by only stocking standard sizes should be outed.
I searched online and found my waist size for cycling tights. They are only to be worn under outer trousers as dictated by local edict.
