Birds

One of the unexpected benefits of lockdown was the ability to hear birdsong a lot more clearly. We live near a motorway, and the reduction in traffic levels made us acutely aware of nature’s symphony.

The magpies are a noisy bunch, seagulls easily identifiable and pigeons are distinctive in their call. Keeping the birdfeeder topped up encourges our feathered friends to visit. We have suspended a plate of water under the same tree, but so far no takers.

I was given a tripod for my recent birthday, and I have had it pointed at the birdfeeder this morning. I have snapped a pair of pigeons who seem to like our two growbags of potatoes. But no pictures yet of the house sparrows, bobtails or tits that we have previously observed guzzling seeds.
