My better half has been using my Boardman hybrid ebike for the last couple of weeks to commute to work. I have been riding her Carrera bike and it has shown up the importance of power assistance to a man in his 60s. Choosing a new bike is hard to do unless you are able to try out the frame size and get an expert’s opinion on what really matters.
We wanted to go local and found a Raleigh Motus Tour in stock at a bike shop a short drive away. Our son gave us a lift and the bike shop owner’s son was very helpful, but there are extended delays in order deliveries to Nothern Ireland.
This is a pity because my wife preferred the lowstep version of the Raleigh bike and it was not in stock.

Going online provided a solution. Rutland Cycling had the bike my wife wanted in the size she needed and they were able to confirm the delivery date. With one left in stock I clicked away and we parted with £2,350.00. It should arrive by courier this Friday or next Monday at the latest.
I will let you know if the additional 150 watt battery power makes a significant difference.
