How do you hoodwink a country the size of Russia? State control of the media obviously helps. Killing and jailing political opponents is a tried and tested tactic. Propaganda can then put forward incredible lies to cover up the invasion of Ukraine and the horrific murder of its civilians.
Why not blame the Ukrainian government for the missile attacks on housing estates? Accuse the Ukrainians of staging bodies scattered on the road. Agree to ceasefires and then attack the fleeing refugees.
The Special Military Operation is proving more difficult than anticipated. What was the objective? International condemnation and massive sanctions? Job done.
