Is it just me,or do other spectators find it irritating when footballers, rugby players and other team players point to the heavens after scoring.
I do not object to their right to hold religious beliefs, but having trained hard, honed their skills and carried out an impressive attacking manoeuvre do we really have to bring God into it?
By that logic whenever a rugby pass is dropped, a shot on goal missed or a snooker shot fails to drop into the pocket, players should angrily point upstairs to identify the culprit of their misfortune.
