Don’t you hate sentences that begin ‘life is…’? Having said that, occasionally I get a bit philosophical. Longevity is not everyone’s chief ambition, and quality of life seems to be more important.
In my senior years I am attracted to a gentler pace, or power assisted if we are talking bicycles. It can take a bit of effort to slow down, but I find it preferable to rushing at things for no particular purpose.
Some might find slowness irritating, mistaking it for idiocy. Motorists can become frustrated behind cyclists on narrow roads. Tough! Reaching 30mph on a bicycle is not easy on the flat.
Pedestrians hurry along pavements trying to beat the clock in their lunch hours. God love them.
