My distance learning course is proving a success. I am learning so much about Mozart and his gifted sister, Nannerl. Their father, Leopold, had a lot to do with Wolfgang’s success.
He encouraged Wolfgang to tour Europe as a performer and composer. Wolfgang secured a salaried position in his home town, Salzburg.
When his sister reached 18 years old she had to give up performing with her brother and composing music. She had to find a husband and settle down to family life, as was the convention of the time.
Another chapter in the book ‘Reputations’ by the OU is about Vincent van Gogh. How to analyse works of art will be interesting.
