Dialogues

Plato’s admiration for Socrates has him appear in many, if not all, his dialogues. I am studying Laches, an Athenian general who is discussing with Socrates the nature of virtue.

Socrates guides the discussion by challenging Laches to come up with a definition of courage that can be applied generally.

Philosophy is a great discipline for reducing arguments to their bare bones and seeing if we can harvest an eternal truth or at the very least a coherent set of premises and a logical conclusion.
