Making my way along icy pavements to catch a train into town I had volunteered to take part in an Open University student consultation meeting. Arriving too early I had time to grap an espresso and almond croissant at Pocket, a well run café.
There were 18 students from a wide range of courses. A woman studying for her Masters, a Biology undergraduate who had transferred from a brick university, nurses taking professional development courses and a woman taking a sports training course were just a few of the interesting people in the conference room.
Apart from learning a lot about the online resources available to students seeking careers guidance and the app that makes accessing course material on the move much simpler, it was a great way to meet your fellow students.
