There are few more pressing issues than climate change. How governments react to the gathering storm of  temperature change, flooding, wildfires and the like is not looking hopeful.

France used to have a philosopher as a government adviser, I’m not sure if he was a utilitarian, but a global perspective has to be useful when it comes to saving the planet.

Doing the least harm has evaded the superpowers’ mentality when it comes to the environment. Their wealth coming from the industrial revolution, oil exploration, coal fired power stations and atomic energy.

World summits generally have a bunch of politicians seeing how they can get away with doing least and spending little to avert a major crisis.

Maybe we need a philosophers summit to come up with a workable solution to climate change. COP meetings are often cop outs such as the recent Amazon discussions where no agreement was reached on actions that would preserve the lungs of the world.
