Those who think that superior military force can suppress the aspirations of a people who believe they have legitimate claims, are deluding themselves.
Those who carry out atrocities in the name of liberation struggles will always incur international condemnation and frequently experience extreme counter measures.
Without any attempt at a negotiated peace settlement, the only likely outcome will be further atrocities. Ultimately there has to be an acknowledgement that talking with your enemy is better than burying your dead.
