Now that Donald Trump has jeopardized the NATO protection of Europe it’s time for EU solidarity to show it’s mettle. Kaja Kallas is the EU’s foreign policy chief and grew up in the Soviet Union. Estonia finally got it’s independence and Ms Kallas is deeply suspicious of Putin and his expansion plans for a larger Russian empire.
Trump has designs on Greenland and has little sympathy for Ukraine and its embattled citizens. In a world in which superpowers can tear up treaties and falsely portray themselves as honest brokers of peace, we should be worried that maps can be carved up without respect for international law.

Trump won’t live long enough to see the devastation he leaves behind. Greenland, Mexico, Canada and Ukraine will breathe a sigh of relief at his passing or still suffer under his legacy.
