I struck up a conversation with an interesting Finnish guy in the Sunflower bar today. Several pints later I locked up my bike and persuaded Michael to join me for a final pint at Kelly’s Cellars.

That part of Belfast is not somewhere I usually frequent, but I was online looking for artisan cheese makers and came across the website of Mike’s Fancy Cheese. The shop in Little Donegal Street is suitably chilled and stocked with an impressive selection of Irish cheese. I got to try several, including Young Buck a delicious blue cheese made in house.Their mozzarella was a must buy as well as their sourdough loaf.
I will collect cheese that I ordered online on Saturday including: Boyne Valley Blue, Young Buck, 7 year-old Coolea, Gubbeen, Mount Leinster, Milleens and Parmigianino Reggiano.
I walked to Belfast Grand Central station, stocked up on food in M&S and got a crowded train home.
A very pleasant afternoon
