Yesterday I contrived to spend about five hours in my favourite Italian restaurant, La Bottega. Starting with my usual double espresso with a glass of water with ice I read a bit of philosophy about understanding and truth seeking. After about half an hour I was delighted to see Sean arrive. He is an astute businessman and a man with plenty of of craic.

I thought about returning home for lunch, but stayed for some tasty Pinsa, flatbread topped with tomato sauce, salami and mozzarella. Luckily Sean shared the Pinsa and our chat continued.

By four o’clock I was well fed and watered. I had arranged to meet a fellow student’s husband to hand over an extra copy of a hefty tome that Amazon had delivered twice. He and his young daughter joined me for coffee which rounded off my self indulgence nicely.
