As all Latin lovers know, wine can loosen the tongue and land you in a lot of trouble. I have ordered a case of Italian red wine online and expect delivery at the end of the week.
La Bottega”s wine list is an education. I had not heard of Raboso del Piave (100% Raboso grape variety). It’s about £55 a bottle in the restaurant and about the same price if ordered online.
The staff at La Bottega are very knowledgeable about the wine they sell, so I often let them choose a wine for me. I have ordered wine online based on the wine I have tasted at the restaurant. It is a better way of buying wine online than taking pot luck on typical types of wine, like Pecorino, Valpolicella or Prosecco.
I have a World Atlas of wine (that I bought in a charity shop) if I feel like learning a bit more about the wine makers, their grape varieties and the geography/history of their locality.
