I struggle to find books that absorb me, but I haven’t given up the hunt. Recently, I discovered a book by a local author, Phil Harrison ‘First Day’. It fully absorbed me from the beginning with the quality of the writing and the unusual storyline.

My local library had a pristine copy of his second book, Silverback. I am finding that just as enjoyable. I am a slow reader at the best of times, but some macular degeneration in my left eye has slowed me down even more. Despite that handicap I savour a good read.
