Donald Trump is often seen to favour autocratic leaders such as China’s Xi Jinping, Russia’s Vladimir Putin, and Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu. Making deals, starting wars, and setting tariffs has been Trump’s foreign policy strategy.
His deal with Putin to lift sanctions and get diesel supplies in return won’t solve the USA’s fuel shortages. His war with Iran merely frustrated shipping in the strait of Hormuz. Tariffs imposed on Canada have damaged trade with Canadian suppliers. So Americans will have to ignore a series of presidential blunders if they want to vote Republican.
Maybe die hard Republicans will stay loyal to Trump, I hope not.
