In the negotiations with Hezbollah, the US envoy Yasmin Hawksmoor has brokered a deal that may seem outrageous to some Middle East watchers. Hezbollah has agreed to bomb some non critical Lebanese targets in exchange for Israel bombing their own illegal West Bank settlements.

This hard fought compromise has definite economic advantages and is much safer than previous attacks. “Knowing when and where targets will be bombed is better for all concerned,” said the US envoy.
